Evolve

Endo

The latest in total and complete nerve annihilation comes from Miami-based Endo, a Hard to the core outfit that's seeking to "Evolve" the way heavy music is presented.

The expected mix of Nu-Metal machinery is feverishly working the gears and their full force driving rhythms and razor-edged rants are all present and accounted for but I hear an extra element in their music that sets them slightly apart from the glut of anger-ridden performers ripping off the rising tide of mainstream million sellers.

With influences as diverse as Rage Against the Machine, James Brown and Tool, the outward expression figures most prominently in this somewhat unexpected mix while the sound is pure power displaced from within.

"Mindset" takes a minute long breath at the onset before the full tirade reaches eye popping levels-"Leave Us Alone," "Penicillin," and "Listen," all built upon raging fury stemming from self-healing principles and more than just wailing away with malicious intent.

In fact "Malice," their first single can also be heard on the previously released Dracula 2000 soundtrack.

Beginning somewhat subdued, they quickly combine crushing riffs, structurally RATM in most cases, with a twinge of studio effects to coincide nicely with the twinge of pain you're likely to receive once the chorus kicks in from the relatively mild verse.

They're among the newest in the latest line of modern Metal upstarts and while there's always a certain degree of repetitive qualities and genre-splitting going on, theirs is for the most part a fresh, clean sound that should see them "Evolve" before too long into a force to be reckoned with.
