Eldritch are a young
progressive metal band from Italy. They released 'Seed Of Rage'
their debut album in 1995.
The band is Terence Holler on Lead and Backing vocals, Eugene
Simone on Lead and Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals, Adriano
Dal Canto on Drums and Percussion, Martin Kyhn on Bass
and Backing Vocals and Oleg Smirnoff on Keyboards.
The tracks are : 'Ghoulish Gift', 'The Last Embrace', 'Lord Of
An Empty Place', 'Sometimes In Winter', 'At The Restless Sea', 'Salome's
Dance', 'Erase', 'The Quest(ion)', 'Clockwork Bed', 'Dawn Of The Dying'
Headquake is the second album from the Italian Progressive
Metal band Eldritch and as with all Prog Metal bands, most
of the tracks are quite complex, with strong melodies.
The first track is 'Ghoulish Gift'which is a is a fast aggressive
song.
Next is 'The Last Embrace'which is a powerful progressive song
with heavy guitar, there are some nice keyboards and there's a great
guitar solo.
Track three is 'Lord Of An Empty Place', is a very catchy song,
there's a nice melody and the track just seem's to flow from start
to finish.
Next is 'Sometimes In Winter',this is quite a slow song, and
it has a strong melody.
'At The Restless Sea', the longest track on the album at around
7 minutes, mainly done on the keyboards, but there is some heavy guitar
and nice changes in tempo.
Track six is 'Salome's Dance', there's some nice keyboards,
with some nice changes in mood and direction, there's a little Spanish
guitar mixed with some jazz piano and a great guitar solo.
'Erase', the heaviest track on the album, its fast and agqressive,
but there are some nice changes in mood,tempo and direction .
The next track is 'The Quest(ion)', this is a little different
and takes a while to get into, there's a great keyboard solo and a
bass guitar solo too.
'Clockwork Bed', this track is full of energy and it has an
excellent keyboard solo.
The last track is 'Dawn Of The Dying', which starts off fairly
slowly, and then gradually gets faster and faster. there's some nice
keyboards and guitar.
This CD is full of quality songs 'Land Of An Empty Place', 'Sometime
In Winter', 'Salome's
Dance', infact I found it hard to choose as the standard is so
good. I could go on and on in truth about Headquake, but I'm
won't, if you love bands like Dream Theater, Savatage and such like
you'll love this CD just as much as I do.
