Eerie Von |
| My first thought
after the first few songs of Eerie's second solo record was that there
had to be another reason for he and Danzig splitting off other than
musical differences. Because after listening to "The Blood and the Body" I'm convinced that the two of them released the same solo albums under their respective names. There is a unique quality to Von's music that differs from Danzig's "Blackacidevil" however, where Danzig opted for the Techno-Electronica feel most of the time, Von's string of chamber music throws back to the original sounds of 50's rebel rock with hardly a noticeable difference from one song to the next other than creative lyric writing. Both artists stepped well aside from the traditional heavy rock they helped create in Danzig though maybe closer to the evil topic range better associated with Samhain. "The Blood." has it's catchier moments but mostly involves a shroud of bleakness amidst fearful sound effects that explores the darkside quite deeply but will be an acquired taste for most.
