Eduard Artemiev is a Russian composer, best known for his many movie soundtracks for Andrei Tarkovski movies among others.

This CD is a re-release of an album originally released in 1980.

On this album he's trying to compose progressive rock with a classical feeling. J. Rozhdestvenskaya contributed the wonderful female vocals and a poet named Y. Rythkheu wrote the lyrics.

Artemiev is without doubt a very skilful composer and arranger, but the album has a very dated sound with awful 80's synth sounds. I'm sure that there are many that have longed for this re-release, but I can't recommend it if you're not into 80's progressive rock with an "electronic" feeling.
