In Time (Growing Came) Dog Eat Dog remind us all of the good old days when music was about having a laugh. When you could put on a record and literally feel your mind being carried away by a soaring melody, a sizzling guitar riff, an infectious bass line, or an uplifting breakbeat. When you didn't have to stomach wave upon wave of existentialist angst or introspective analysis ripped from the Bach pages of a school kids rough book. And if like me you considered yes to any of the above then you'll love 'Amped'. 'Amped' is simply bursting full of good true rock songs that you can't simply help but tap your foot to, or you may prefer bobbing your head to the opening hardcore/cross stomp of 'Gangbusters' threw to the pure funk of 'Whateverman' and 'Right Out'. Dog Eat Dog show the flexibility that some might say is sadly lacking in many of todays young bands. Hell, they even manage to tackle reggae on 'Big Wheel' and damn good it is too. 'Amped' is without doubt a natural successor to 'All Boro Kings' and 'Play Games' and proves without doubt that there is still plenty of life left in the old dog. Party on dude, party on.
