Dan DeLucie on Guitar, Brian Craig on Drums and Nardo Andi on Bass formely of the band New Eden and a young and very talented guitarist Perry Grayson. Destiny's End deliver heavy riffs, catchy hooks and thought provoking lyrics. 'Breathe Deep The Dark' is a loosely conceptual album focusing on the questions of immortatlity and individualism. Like the majority of power/speed bands of today Destiny's End are influenced by the bands of the past such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate, but maintain there originality by writing quality songs based around memorable melodies, blistering guitar work and extremely heavy rhythms. If anybody for one moment thought that this style of metal was a thing of the past, then I suggest you grab a copy of 'Breathe Deep The Dark' and start eating humble pie right now. As 'Breathe' rumbles into life, two things become very obvious, firstly that all the bands members are well suited for the job, James Rivera's vocal range is at times quite outstanding, while the dual guitar work of DeLucie and Grayson is amongst some of the finest I've heard in a long time and secondly theres that certain cocksure confidence oozing from every track that only comes from a band who know that they have made an outstanding album. Which is exactly what 'Breathe ' is bloody outstanding. 'Breathe' contains many fine moments, but as is always the case, it's the attention to detail that last bit of fine tuning that turns a ggod song into a great one, one that stands out in a crowd. Just listen to the haunting intro of 'Rebirth' or the way the sounds of the street blend perfectly with the thumping bass solo on 'Unsolved World', all this goes to show a band st the height of their technical prowess. 'Breathe' is very much a guitar album and some of ther dualing between DeLucie and Grayson is at times breathtaking which I feel helps to give this album such an even flow. The 51 mins fly by so fast you barely have time to draw breath. If I had to chose my favourites then it would have to be 'Idle City' which really pushes Rivera's vocal talents to the limit and 'To Be Immortal' for it's rock solid rhythm and guitar solos mid song. But to be fair all the songs are so good, if you asked me the same question next week, I may well give you a different answer. 'Breathe Deep The Dark' is quite an astonishing piece of work and should be on the top of every metasl fans wants list. Website : http://www.destinysend.com Email : Dan Delucie Perry M.
