Their sophomore effort is a painfully writhing grind through a twisted course lain with perilous curves, sharp hooks and distorted visions… The promise of their early demos comes to an apparent fruition here as "Pieces of Nothing," does in fact make something out of nothing and maybe just a little more. Suffering from a cloudy production however, the Southwestern foursome delivers more often than not as they escape total death by effectively flexing their melodic muscles, merging might with an ease of gentleness in creating dynamic grooves, dangerously addictive harmonies and thorny-edged vocals as they visit the end of the line on more than one occasion… which might present the question then as to whether Christ indeed is to be found still rotting? Not at the next step of the course do we find ourselves here but more of an early, unceremonious version of the Greek power metal bringers of death whom we may assume are still resting comfortably… Song six incidentally is a stunner - "Colored Souls" crashes together in a Pantera meets God Dethroned sort of way-pretty awe inspiring! "Pieces of Nothing," read into it what you will-we've all been there before, heard it before… but aspiring lyricists would do well to thumb through the booklet here anyway - it's like a treasure trove of ill literature spewed forth for those darkened loners harboring a lifetime's worth of sinister intent.
