In The Flames Of Black Art DARZAMAT |

The band: Song titles: From the very start this opening track sounds like it has been written for a blockbuster horror movie with its pulsating drums, trumpets and eirie organ sounds, which then give way as the guitar kicks in and a barrage of growling vocals start. Track 2 "Legend?" carries out with a higher tempo with a more industrial feel to it. "Secret Garden" goes back into its orchestral roots with the addition of female vocals from Kate combined with the growls of Flauros. Although Darzamat are only a 3 peice band, they do have a fairly tight sound, and although it is a very difficult genre of music to make popular, for all fans of this type of Death Metal/Industrial crossover, this is a sure winner. There are many elements which are similar to other artists, but they also have elements of linking instruments for an altogether new sound, pushing the boundaries for the listener of this album. Just taking a look at the artwork for the album cover, before listening to any tracks, i had decided, this was going to be the same old Death Metal bore of many ather albums along with the Gothic text, flames and historic photography, but having given the band a chance, I actually enjoyed a rare album of well put together material, which is not afraid to entwine music genres, which proves once and for all, that a book or indeed an album should not be judged by its cover!!!
