March Of The Ancients The entity known as Darkmoon officially began in 1997, arising from the ashes of a former life, Demonic Christ, a band whose existence was always captured within the realms of Demonic Christ, but was never fully revealed until the day of awakening between the bands creative members, Jon Vesano - Guitar, Scott Pletcher - Drums and Devon - Bass/Vocals. Removing themselves from the constraints of weakness meant that they could fully embellish their roles as Bastions of their force, Darkmoon is a force that dwells in all blackened hearts, churning forth hate and rage, spawning chaos and fury, but still brooding with melodic ecstasy that their dark souls will always desire. Their desire is to seek revenge on their enemies that have plundered so long in their land and of their women. The band believes that Christ has been a cancer of our society and nature coupled with his vile ways shall be banished and his light dimmed forever. Then and only then, will our minds, bodies and spirits be free from oppression and our ancestors avenged. Darkmoon's debut album 'Seas Of Unrest' will take you on a journey, charging through the rank of enemies, severing rivers of blood, enthroning of kings and the vengeance of ancestors scorned. 'Seas Of Unrest' wields the essence of a violent sea, bashing all inferior elements that stand before it, striking relentlessly at those who fear the curse that has been bestowed upon them, grinding their existence between the stones of rage. Darkmoon take no prisoners through the flight of power and no letting go until the last hypnotic note has been cast. Behold the blades of might, embrace the rage, a new day has dawned, a day of revenge, a day of reckoning, alas the rising of Darkmoon. And if all the above has left you wondering whether or not you've accidentally logged onto some sort of fantasy website, well, of course you would be wrong. But with all this talk about blood, hate and revenge, you can't help but forgive me for letting my imagination run wild. What Darkmoon do however is go along way in trying to bridge the gap between the underground and the more expectably scheme of things, and with an image that sees our three Bastions of the dark dressed head to toe in armour and chainmail and brandishing swords straight out of the middle ages, Darkmoon are shining a force to be reckoned with. OK so the image might not be to everybodies liking, but you simply cannot ignore the music, brutal vocals, tight pounding rhythms and some fine guitar work all go to make 'Seas Of Unrest' a very enjoyable nerve racking experience. Oh, Yes and there's some really good sound effects mixed into the songs as well, which adds plenty of atmosphere to boot. Which I suppose only leaves one question unanswered. If indeed 'Seas Of Unrest' is only the beginning, what in hells name has Darkmoon got in store for us next? Released by Music For Nations -(CDMFN 251 Website : http://www.peaceville.com |
