"Craving Theo"

Craving Theo

I'd heard of Craving Theo before… don't know when exactly but it's a tough name to forget.

They're a bit darker than I expected. For some reason I'm expecting Dishwalla or Three Doors Down or something but this is a pleasant surprise.

Hard Rock for the new age, right from the get go, post-Grunge and driving, forceful and savage riffing ala Zakk and the BLS, full on and full of bass.

For any of those that actually shelled out-and there were, as there always are a few of us who will-most of the tunes got a "Carnival of Souls" new era Kiss album style.

Outlandish in its irony that such innovators would be reduced to shedding skin for lt/Rock flavor of the month but that's what it sounds like.

Calvin Baty's contemplative and clean vocs are reminiscent of (guy from Tool) or John Corabi even, and in fact musically they're not far off from where Bruce and the boys last went, heavy beltin' groove-based stuff with breaks of grace and acoustics.

This is CT's debut actually and for some reason that name stands out.

Release might've been delayed a while actually but nonetheless it's a solid dose of intuitive "come to kill the roosters" style organically grown Rock with decent chops, shrewd hooks, a dose of psychosis and stormy weather.

Pick hits to check out include "Stomp," "World Of Mine," "All I Am," and "Push Away," forefront to a decent album that writhes in tempered torment.
