Now those of you with memories longer than your average goldfish will probably associate Crack Up with death metal, after all their last album 'From The Ground' helped them win the title of 'Best Death Metal Band' by Rock Hard Magazine.

But if those of you of there were expecting the same again, you'd be very wrong, you see Crack Up have always done their own thing, being oblivious to trends and not giving a shit about style clichés, and this time around they've adopted a more darker rockier style, still filled with brutal guitar riffs and a wonderful rhythm.

Oh, it's all very well, doing your own thing if the end results justify it, and in most cases the bands that continue to change direction usually fall flat on their pretty little faces. But let me tell you 'Heads Will Roll' is simply blinding and it only takes one play to realise that Crack Up are one of the most individual and innovative bands around.

Crack Up take you an a roller coaster ride through Death Hard-core to create a crossover album of the highest order.

'Heads Will Roll' is simply overflowing with fine songs. True , they're not for the faint hearted, but metal never was, was it. There's a lovely even flow to 'Heads Will Roll' with each track blending in perfectly with the next. The highlights for me are the opener 'Well Come' which has a dead cool riff that reminded me of U.K punksters The Damned. 'Next Big Thing' has some fine six string work with a wonderful driving rhythm, while o 'Demon' Crack Up turn everything on overdrive to create a real doom rocker of the highest order.

Oh, and by the way the artworks dead good as well, I can just imagine the clever tattoo artists getting hold of it and making money out of it.

'Heads Will Roll' is a little gem and just make sure you ad this to your collection as soon as possible.
