Live Volume: The Movie (DVD) CORROSION OF CONFORMITY |
|
I am openly biased about this one because I was there for the recording and may still be dealing with the tooth loosening sounds that I endured that night. When I spoke with Mike Dean just prior to his taking the stage he seemed a bit nervous which is understandable after all this is the first live representation of the group in its long history. What nervousness Dean experienced before was replaced by an obviously incredible happiness, also justly felt for having placed on tape an extraordinary night of COC music. The music herein duplicates the live CD version so please refer to my review of that package for more concise thoughts on that but it should go without saying that this was an excellent night for COC. The crowd was with COC at every turn and now you can actually see the Harpos house jump, scream and shout through the entire show. In addition to the stellar sound and visual performance the DVD format allowed for a lot of extras including interviews, a photo gallery and enough other doo-dads to keep you busy for some time. Not only is this the first live recording of COC it is the first of several planed DVD releases but I am not sure how this one could ever be equaled. If you caught the band anytime in their career here is a testament full of sonic psalms set to moving pictures so crisp that the loss of a few dollars on its purchase wont hurt you a bit. COC live and in their full glory. Released by Sanctuary Records Review by David Lee |
