THE SECRET AROUND US CONTEMPT |
|
Line-Up Lubo - guitars, vocals Tracklisting: 1. Intro The hope of the Slovakian death metal scene. The debut album puts CONTEMPT on a par with their country-mates DEMENTOR and SANATORIUM. "The Secret Around Us" features 12 extreme cuts - all very technical, very fast and very fucking brutal. Tons of energy and a very real alternative to fans of not only Slovakian death metal but recommended to NILE, VADER and MALEVOLENT CREATION fans. Their debut "The Secret Around Us" from these four Slovakian executioners present us with an extremely violent and totally uncompromising death metal massacre. Smashing their way through all 12 of the tracks on offer. This vicious aural assault begins after the intro when the track 'Blind Eyes Can't Speak' kicks in which comprises of relentless riffs and fantastic blastbeats making this possibly on of the best on the album. 'Who Am I?' follows on where 'Blind ' left off. Which is pretty much how the next four tracks carry on. We reach the 6th track 'A Dead Stone' which slows us down a tad, not much mind, but just a little and finishes the track with one of the biggest chugging riffs I've heard in a while. We're then back to where we started with the big riffs and blastbeats as Contempt keep up the violence with relentless perfection. It's played with ruthless aggression, a perfect way to start off your career. 'Go MY Boy And Die' is perhaps my favourite on the disc, a good mixture of speed and power with again some of the biggest riffs ever. 'Choke On Your Shame' carries on in the same vain as the majority of the tracks on this disc. 'The Dark Rain' has a kind of eastern feel intro before it decides to pummel your brain with its sheer power before the final track, 'You Must Die!!' kicks in. and what a way to finish off. I'd fully recommend to anyone who hasn't heard of or listened to any of Contempt's material to go and find some, you will not be disappointed. This is a most worthy addition to any death metal fans collection. Buy or die!! Released by Empire Records, 10-687
