In Memory Of Comin' Correct |
|
Another prime example of music overcoming the hardships of everyday life… an incomprehensible, sometimes unfair ritual that we routinely bob our way through sometimes blindly, never knowing that which lurks behind the corner that lay up ahead until it lashes out and bites us on the ass… Comin' Correct's "In Memory Of" is a cleansing of sorts, an ode of aggression aimed at addressing the hardships of everyday life, the brutal truth come to light, and there'll be no storybook ending to this current chapter in a career that first began as a side project, later grown into an uncontrollable force within the Hard-Core community at large. Led by the torturous screams of rage by veteran vocalist Ricktalife, "In Memory Of" grinds a purposeful ax against the fairness of life, the hidden meaning of death, while questioning the principles of those within their inner sanctum and challenges the loyalties of those who once proudly walked the streets of credibility to later abandon the cause for which they once stood-"Truth Unfolds," "False Claims," "Two Face…" But the major theme that surrounds "In Memory Of" is based on the loss of time and the consequent dealing with the pain to overcome the mental anguish of death, to ultimately achieve inner strength, inner peace and the will to survive against the ceaseless march of despair. Expect no catchy melodies, no compromises, no restraint, just a well-intended purification process put to the power of music and those self-healing properties with which it helps us take the next critical step… Released by Triple Crown Records Review by Vinnie Apicella [va85@columbia.edu]
