The Norwegian band Clarion Call is mixing catchy melodic rock, pop and progressive rock on their new album "The Next Big Thing". And perhaps they might me the next big thing in Norway, but I doubt that they will ever be a bigger name outside the country. But then again, there are not many bands that have that opportunity.

There are some really good songs such as the opening "Superman". They can be compared to bands such as Manic Street Preachers, Suede and U2. The music is really fresh and well performed, but not that original. I really love the cover artwork though by Espen M Aarlott.

All in all it's a good album, but not enough to stand out as something unique. If you're into Suede and U2 though, it might be worth checking out.
