Charon are a melodic , atmospheric Gothic metal band from Finland. Charon was founded in 1992 and at that time were a raw and heavy death metal band, In 1995 Charon's music changed into a more melodic and multidimensional one. The opening track is 'Burndown', mellow acoustic intro and vocals (sson accompanied by distant drums, another acoustic guitar and bass) start the album off. The whole song only lasts 2 mins and 10 secs, but you'd be hard pushed to find a better song to listen to in such a short time!!

The next track is 'Wortex', I'm not quite sure on the meaning of 'Wortex', but I got the feeling it's got something to do with being very scared!. I came to this conclusion from the harrowing thunder, gothic chior and monsterous licks and riffs in this 5 minute epic.

The third track 'Breeze' is another classic track that finishes before you have realised it! (you have to hear it to understand).

The next track 'Serenity', is a moody, atmospheric soft rock song that soon evelves into a dark raucous cavalcade of rock.

'To Serve You', is another extremely good rock number thats like riding a rollercoaster straight into hell and back.

The sixth track 'Nightwing', I haven't got a clue what this song is about, but it is filled to the brim with brilliant licks and riffs.

The next track 'Neverbirth', a soft and gentle escapade that occassionally flows over, into the pools of darkness. Nice!!

'Kheimos', Like 'Nightwing', I don't know what this is about and I don't know what 'Kheimos' means, however, I do know that this is a brilliant track that should be heard by all.

The ninth track 'November's Eve'. is probably the weakest track on the album, but in fairness, it's still a very good track.

The final track is 'Morrow' an 8 1/2 minute journey through anger, angst, despair, aggression and sorrow. Quite easily the best track on the album. Rarely have I heard a song filled with so much emotion and raw energy. The track finishes by just gradually fading away into the distance.

Well, as you can probably tell, I like this album. Please for the love of god, get your hands on this album at all costs!!
