Asta La Vista (3:01) SAN DIEGO, CA - The five-piece heavy metal band CAGE has come a very long way in the five short years they've been together. CAGE combines traditional heavy metal with modern day power metal for a fresh sound that seems to be providing neglected true metal fans just what they've been missing. Throughout the metal dark ages in America, CAGE maintained their integrity, never giving in or changing styles, while everyone else wanted to sound like a 90's band. That integrity has really paid off as CAGE shot to the top of the power vacuum that was left. This provided many opportunities for CAGE to be seen and heard by the masses with openings for JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, DIO, FATES WARNING, EXODUS, DOKKEN, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, and many others. CAGE got the opportunity to play these great shows and delivered big, many times outshining the headliner with their live commanding presence. Now with the incredible international response from the release of their "UNVEILED" CD, the sky is the limit for what maybe the new heirs for the heavy metal throne. CAGE was founded in 1993 as SEAN PECK, DAVE GARCIA, ERIC HORTON, and MIKE GIORDANO all sought similar minded metal musicians in an "alternative world gone mad". This was basically a San Diego super-group formed out of the ashes of local metal bands NOMAD and CRUSHER. The newest member is MIKE NIELSEN, former drummer of the prog-metal band CATHARSIS. His flair, power, and consistency have made the CAGE line-up finally complete. The rest is history as they say, for CAGE quickly gained a following larger than any of the "pet bands" that the trendy Californian radio stations embraced. Strength in numbers and the fact that there is no more loyal a music fan than that of a heavy metal fan, helped CAGE move from small local shows to playing arenas in a relatively short period of time. As California embraced CAGE, the Mexican community took to them even more, constantly talking about them and playing them consistently on the radio. After a few unreleased, under financed recordings, CAGE has finally unleashed Unveiled, an incredible representation of the true heavy metal sound so lacking in today's market. As we approach the dawn of the next metal age, all that remains is the emergence of some new heavy metal icons that the main stream can embrace. CAGE has the conviction and integrity to make people once again feel the awesome power that only heavy metal music can provide. So raise your fist and yell as CAGE carries the heavy metal battle flag to the top of the mountain. This album is just one hell of a roller-caoster ride from start to finish with the heavy dualling guitars, ultra tight rhythms and high pitched vocals . The musicianship is just superb, and the songwriting is quite exceptional. The music has a nice melodic quality about it and the chorus' are catchy without being too cliche. Sean's vocals for me are a mix of Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Ronnie James Dio (Dio, Black Sabbath and Rainbow) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest). Whereas the music shows influences such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Knig Diamond, Metal Church, Savatage, Wasp and Crimson Glory. There are many great tracks on this album but a few of my favourites are 'Shoot To Kill', 'Devil Inside', 'Dancing Around The Fire', 'Unveiled', and 'Nomad'. The CD is released as an enhanced CD with multimedia content, band info, photos, and more. Fans of any of the above bands I have mentioned or anyone who wants an album that just KICKS ASS then I would suggest you get along to your local record shop and get them to order you a copy NOW!!!
