Quest For Truth is quite simply an electronic album, not a
dance or a techno album, not even something Jean Michel Jarre might
put out. This is more like what the pioneers of this style of music,
someone like Tangerine Dream would release. Some of you might even
go as far as to call it New Age music. But whatever label you give
Quest For Truth, one thing you can't but help get over is the
instant relaxation that sweep's through your entire body soon after
you've pressed play.
Quest For Truth is a fantasy story put to music of Good versus
Evil, and Good's eventual triumph of all that is dark, the main complaint
with this type of music over the years is that it all sounds the same,
well, it doesn't, trust me and Quest For Truth's claim is the
obvious classical influence that comes out as the story unfolds.
This 10 track CD lasts for just under the hour and it is difficult
to highlight any one track that stands out because this type of album
works better as a whole. As you listen to this album track after track
the music unfolds to paint a wider picture like when you read a chapter
in a book, the story only makes sense at the end.
I have listened to this album a few times now and I found the best
way to appreciate the quality and the different sounds you hear is
with headphones. With these firmly in place your body and mind will
understand what a clever guy Brian Hirsch is. Only then will
you fully understand the delicate strings, the gentle pianos, the
programming and in a sense creates if you like your own little world
that is Quest For Truth.
