features members from other groups and was assembled by these kindred
Norsemen under the full knowledge that it would possess it's own life
and must be treated as such. Conceived and formed by guitarist Oystein
Brun (Ex- Molested ), Garm (who fronts both
Ulver and Arcturus ), Ivar Bjornson (of Enslaved
), drummer Grim (Ex- Immortal and Gorgoroth ) and
new bassist Kai.
The CD was recorded at Woodhouse Studios in
Germany.
This CD contains 8 tracks, a kind of concept
album on a Norwegian theme 'The Eye Of Oden', 'The Winterway',
'Om Hundrede Aar Er Alting Glemt', 'A Tale Of Pagan Tongue', 'To Mount
And Rove', 'Grimland Domain', 'Ascension Of Our Fathers' and ' The
Dawn Of The End'.
This is Borknagar's second album and a great album
it is.There are a lot of changes in direction in terms of the music.
There are acoustic bits, heavy bits, atmospheric bits, some great
guitar. Garm sometimes singing with the black vocals
and sometimes with the normal Viking vocals make this an exciting
album to listen too.
