Blue Van Gogh are a band from the Garden State. New Jersey.
A quintet lead by a husband and wife team. Ray and
Patti who have terrific emotional voices and sound
great together.
I found Hi-Fi Junkie Sonata to be a
very pleasant album to listen to. It's a kind of mix between Psychedelic
Pop and Rock tunes, but still it's very good and unusual. The songwriting
is good and even though they have a certain style , all the song are
unique and different.
Most of them are very catchy and you quite easily find yourself singing
along. The songs have strong melodies. The Vocals from Ray
and Patti, sometimes soft, harmonic and powerful
when needed. There is also some excellent guitar playing from Bradley
too. With Walt and Alan doing their
part to create a very good rhythym section.
The tracks I particulary like are 'Butterfly Teeth', 'Spaceman','Honeyhead'
and 'Dream A Dream'.
If you like your Rock on the lighter side then this is a
very good album.
