The first track 'Take Me Higher', is a nice track that starts
with some superb guitar before a heavy riff comes in. The vocals are
very good and do have a melodic quality about them. There's quite
a slow rhythm, but the melody and chorus are very catchy and I feel
this track could do well as a single.
The next track is 'One Step', this is another catchy song,
there's some great guitar, a good solid drum sound and some nice bass
lines. The keyboards have been used effectively without being to domineering,
great vocals and a superb guitar solo.
The third track 'Familier Stranger' starts with some nice keyboards
and intricate guitar work. The vocals are quite a bit softer on the
first section. Later the track comes in slightly heavier, another
great solo and again this track has another catchy tune.
The next track 'Lie' starts off fairly mellow, with some nice
guitar and great vocals. Followed by some heavier guitar. There's
some nice changes in direction, mood and tempo and there's some nice
keyboards beneath the vocals.
'I'll Never Forget', is a great track with some excellent guitar
work, The vocals are wonderful, there's a lot more feeling and passion
put into this track, Also there's an excellent solo.
Track six 'The Warrior', starts with some great keyboards before
a heavy riff comes in. This is a guitar orientated instrumental. There's
an excellent interaction between keyboards, guitar and bass. Some
of the guitar work sounds Satriani influenced.
The next track is 'Break The Silence', starts with some nice
guitar and vocals. There's a slow drivin' rhythm, great drums and
bass too. Nice changes in direction, mood and tempo. There's also
an excellent guitar solo.
'Divine', this track has quite a fast rhythm, but retains a
nice melodic quality. There's some nice bass and excellent guitar
work.
The ninth track is 'Blessing In Disguise', which is a love
ballad, it's very laidback and the type of thing you would play to
your wife/girlfriend when your feeling romantic.
'I'm The One', starts with some nice keyboards followed by
some heavy riffing. This is hard hitting fast rhythm melodic hard
rock. Great vocals and guitar.
The final track is 'Let It Go', which again is another fast
hard hitting rock track with a great melody, Great guitar and vocals.
Overall, a great CD, if you like good rock song's with lots of melody
then this is for you!!
