Well, can you believe it, Nick Saloman, who really in effect is, The Bevis Frond has been around for nearly two decades now, and this is the first time I have heard an album by him. Where have you been, or more likely where have I been, why have I been missing out on something I should have heard about years ago.

I can tell you Nick Saloman is one hell of a talented guy, his songwriting ability is just first class, the sound I must say is typically British, and a few names come to mind, The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Who, The Jam and to some extent Syd Barrett. From the bands i have mentioned, I am sure you will have some idea as to what i am trying to get across.

Now some of you might say, but the bands you have mentioned where around in the 1960's/70's, the music must sound a bit outdated, not at all, my friends, the sounds/music sounds fresh and invigorating. I reckon if there were a few record companies with a bit of bottle out there, they should release some of the songs on this album as singles, cos they're just so much better than the crap we have to listen to today in the music charts.

Anyway there are so many great songs on this album, it's quite difficult to pick out anything in particular, but if pushed it would have to be 'By The Water's Edge', 'Let Them Beautify You', 'Artillery Man', 'Can't Feel It', 'Sugar Voids', 'Back On My Star', 'The Speed Of Light', 'Child', 'Living In Real Time' and 'China Fry'.

Sorry, that's probably a few too many to have as favourites, but believe me, all the tracks are excellent and I just found it very difficult to leave out any really.

Well, what more can I say, than I am now a Bevis Frond fan and I am just going to have to get some more titles to listen too, and I would suggest anyone out there who enjoys well written songs to do the same.
Highly Recommended!!!
