Original Sin BALTIMOORE |
|
Musicians: Björn Lodin -
bass, guitar & vocals Track list: Six years after their previous release "Thought For Food" (1994), the legendary Swedish "band" Baltimoore is back with their fifth album named "Original Sin" on the Lion Music label. It isn't exactly a band we're talking bout here, because Baltimoore is actually the Swedish vocalist / guitarist / composer / producer / engineer Björn Lodin (Six Feet Under), surrounded by good musicians such as the magnificent guitar player Thomas Larsson (Glenn Hughes, Six Feet Under) and keyboard player Lars Pollack. Björn Lodin has also worked with the Finish guitar virtuoso Lars Eric Mattsson. Björn Lodin has a very characteristic voice that you immediately recognise when you hear it. The music is 70's influenced Hammond Organ and keyboard driven bluesy hard rock in the same vein as Deep Purple, Krokus, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow and Whitesnake. My favourite tracks are the opening "Conviction", the jazzy "Superman", "Omniscience" and "Jealousy". I still consider "Food For Food" being their best work up to date, but "Original Sin" isn't bad at all. It's a welcome return of one of Sweden's most interesting vocalists in the 80's and 90's.
