King Fear BABYLON WHORES |
|
Imagine sitting here trying to write a review and all you can do is stare into space with your mouth open in wonderment. Not so much for the music as for the accompanying notes. took the words right out of my mouth! No, seriously there's no way even in my best moments could I ever describe this sound any better or more imaginatively. I really don't know what to say. This is the first I've ever heard of Babylon Whores and right from the first moments of "Errata Stigmata" with the "say you love Satan" chorus ringing incessantly in my head. Well I knew this was a keeper! Evoking a sound reminiscent of later Entombed, but all told, quite unique and original, the fearsome Finnish foursome create a cavalcade of sound based around "King Fear" or what amounts to a fulfillment of a prophecy noted many years ago by the likes of some guy named Nostradamus. "Radio Werewolf", "Hand of Glory", a vast assortment of a nocturnally disturbing dirty-faced portrayal that pits grindcore, doom, goth against each other in a wild fury that sets forth a journey into darkness of which no one shall ever return or dare to follow. Babylon Whores will surely be heard from again but the only question that remains is whether anyone can ever be fully prepared for them! Released by Necropolis Records : http://www.necropolisrec.com/index.html Review by Vinnie Apicella.
