Old Lions (In The World Of Snarling Sheep) is an excellent progressive rock album.
There are 15 tracks lasting some 65 minutes, with some of the tracks having a strong Indian or Arabian influence. Other influences, I would say are Pink Floyd, Hendrix to name a few. Quite a few of the tracks I would have to say are guitar-orientated, but the tracks do have good strong melodies and show quite a lot of originality.

Except for four tracks, they are all instrumentals, showing a high degree of musicianship.
The first track 'So Be It', is an instrumental, there is a slight Hawkwind feel to it, with a Middle Eastern influence on the end section.

The next track is 'It Has Been A Long Time, Hasn't It', has more Eastern Influences and is another instrumental, again this track has a Hawkwind feel to it. There is a good strong melody with a slight Pink Floyd influence and a few jazz influences too.

The 3rd track is 'Into The Four Winds', a short instrumental with an early Rush feel to it.

Next is 'Underneath The Roswell Sun', this ones more of a progressive rock track, and has a strong catchy tune.

'More Weight', is another instrumental, but slightly heavier, with more Eastern influences.

Track six is 'Gone West', guitar based instrumental with a jazz fell to it.

The next track is 'Ransom (I'll Take My Chances)', strong track with Pink floyd influences, and good vocals.

'Eternal Resonance' (live Excerpt), is an instrumental, with more of the Eastern Influence, with a Led Zeppelin feel to it.

The ninth track is 'Road To Damascus', this track reminds me of My White Bicycle : Tomorrow, nice track with a psychedelic feel to it and some superb guitar work.

The next track is 'The Prisoner's Song', intro to this track has a slight Door's feel to it, but oonce the vocals start, the influence is more Pink Floyd, spacey kind of track with a progressive element.

'Amida Rising', intricate intro followed by a good rock instrumental.

Track twelve is 'May This Be Forever', another good strong rock instrumental.

The next track is 'Anubis Rising', intro is more blues based, followed by some outstanding guitar work. 'Talisman Of The Dreams', good vocals, this track has more of an early Genesis feel to it.

The final track 'Old Lions (In The World Of Snarling Sheep)', is another instrumental with Pink Floyd influences.

There's a great degree of variety of mood's within the tracks and a few of my favorites include 'So Be It', 'It Has Been A long Time, Hasn't It...', 'Underneath The Roswell Sun', which a Hendrix style intro to it. 'Anubis Rising' and the title track 'Old Lions (In The World of Snarling Sheep)'

Highly Recommended!!!
