Anesthesia are a melodic Power/Thrash band from Germany. Jan Rubach and Thomas Nack should be familier to die-hard metal fans as the groovy rhythm section of Gamma Ray, as well as shouter Schraubah, known from punk band Razzia.

The State Of Being Unable To Feel Pain features 13 tracks of high powered metal lasting just over 68 minutes, but retaining a melodic quality to the tracks. In my opinion, there seems to be quite a few influences such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament to name a few.

The songs are well constructed, aggressive, powerful, but retain a melodic quality. The musicianship throughout is quite superb as well as the production quality. Shraubach shows that he has a strong voice with a sense of melody and contributes well to the powerful tracks on 'The State Of Being Unable To Feel Pain'. With the guitars crashing in at fast and furious paces, this continues to dominate throughout the entire album. 'Welcome To The Church Of The Numb', the punky fast 'Triptychon' and 'Caligula's Dance' are promising speed metal tracks.
Will probably attract a very strong European following.
