The opening track is 'Native Elements' great track starting with acoustic guitar, with the rest of the instruments being added soon after (Electric guitar, bass, drums and percussion). Jarrod's vocals are quite similar to that of Geddy Lee (Rush) and you could say that the music is in a similar vein. This is quite a catchy song with some nice keyboards and great guitar work.

The next track is 'August', another track that starts with acoustic guitar, followed shortly after with some keyboards being added. When the guitar come in it is very powerful and intricate. The drums sound is just excellent and theres some nice bass too. Superb guitar solo.

The third track 'Demon Hour', starts with some heavy riffs and it's not long before the rest of the band come in followeing the same theme. After about 35 secs the music changes direction and the vocals come in, the bass has a really good drivin' sound to it and the drums sound a little subdued, but it still sounds nice. Theres another excellent guitar solo.

The next track 'Seasons', another great track with nice acoustic strumming. As you can guess from the title this track is all about the changing seasons we go through each year and I can only describe it as a happy song as it made me fell happy listening to it.

'Falling Apart', on this track theres a nice combination between the guitars and keyboards. It's very much in the Rush vein with some nice bass, superb drums and stunning guitar work. Great guitar solo.

The sixth track 'Mosaic Of Scars', this is a nice track with some great bass an guitar work. Nice changes in direction, mood and tempo with some nice acoustic guitar. Great guitar solo.

The next track 'Wasteland', has a nice intro then goes into a drivin' rhythm. The track then changes direction mellowing out with some nice keyboards. This is another track that is very much in the Rush vein. Many changes in direction, mood and tempo.

'Love Medicine', this is a great track with a hard drivin rhythm, nice keyboards, great guitar work and an excellent guitar solo.

The final track 'Minor Seconds' starts with acoustic guitar and nice keyboards, an electric guitar come in occassionally, but it is fairly subdued. Another great guitar solo.

This is a really excellent debut album from Afterlife and knowing how good this album is, I can't wait for the follow up. And I must admit that when I first listened to this I had to look at the booklet to see if Geddy Lee had made a guest appearance, because Jarrod at times can sound just like him. So come on all you Rush fans and lovers of good music, go and get yourself a copy of this excellent album!!!
