The tracks are :
1. Loyalty
2. Leeway
3. Since When
4. I'm Not Funny
5. Real Deal
6. You Taught Me
The first track is 'Loyalty', a moody blues number that kicks
in with an extremely catchy chorus. This track shows a high degree
of originality though.
The next track is 'Leeway', introduced by a cool, smooth guitar
solo, it soon bursts off with a fast paced tempo rock attitude. Again,
the lyrics, instrumentation and song are all perfect.
The third track is 'Since When', a fusion of 70's rock, country
and western and modern pop, resulting in a very classy song. Very
addictive to listen too.
The next track is 'I'm Not Funny', this track is extremely
funky!. This is easily the best track on the album. The solo's are
tremndously good and the backing is a good accompaniment. The lyrics
are good and the song is very catchy.
'Raw Deal', this is another funky number, but htis time with
a bad case of 'surf-bum-drum' (you have to hear it!). It does
change direction to a more contempory form, but it's difficult not
to love the wah-wah guitars.
The final track is 'You Taught Me' and switches from slow-dance
to blues and everywhere between quite nicely. It's not quite a strong
as the other tracks, but the wicked guitar solo is worth a listen.
This is definately the most original album that I have heard in a
long time, and with the right management, After One could be
sitting pretty high!
Another ingredient to a successful album is variety and this CD has
an abundance of it. None of the tracks sound reminiscent of each other,
meaning you could listen to it for ages before getting bored, if you
ever do!
This band are a real find and I would recommend everyone on the planet
to listen to them, no matter what their influences or particular tastes
are.
Get hold of this album by any means posssible!
