Absolute Zero are an experimental art-rock band from Miami. The music they play is incredibly complex and intricate.

"A Live in the Basement" is a two song CD recorded live on a two-track deck. The single was created to get airplay, gigs and time in a proper recording studio. It is difficult to say what type or style of music Absolute Zero play. Imagine a more warped, avant garde Frank Zappa. The music occasionally sounds sinister, especially during the vocals.

The first song "Paradigms" is held together by different bass lines. The drums add a hectic feel to the music whilst the keyboards add texture. The high pitched vocals add a sinister edge to the music. As the song seems to be losing the plot completely and descends into what sounds like random noise a familiar bass line starts, keeping your interest/enjoyment in the song.

The second song "An I to an Eye" is more inconsistent because it does not have the holding bass lines. The song is less hectic with the keyboard taking a more prominent role.

"A Live in the Basement" could be seen as interestingly good or random noise. For myself, it was not an easy listen but was ultimately rewarding in the end.
