HI-FI SERIOUS

A

Question when is a rock band like a football team ?

Now come on think about it for a minute or and the answers not so daft as you might think, because like a football team, who constantly try to make it into the premier league, a rock bands aim is in most cases anyway to try to make better records play better gigs and hopefully sell enough records to make a good living and become household names.

Take Brit quartet A for example with two critically acclaimed albums "How Ace Are Buildings" and "Monkey Kong" already under their belt and after playing with the likes of feeder and blink 182 surely the premier league beckons, well here's hoping because with "Hi Fi Serious", A have made a record of pure class and once the obvious comparisons with early police are just a distant memory what you have is simply one of the rock records of the year to date.

"Hi Fi..." is a stridently confident work with strong vocals staggering array of samples scorching guitar solos and thunderous rhythm's and grooves and some of the most up tempo choruses I've heard in a long time.

Out of the 12 songs on offer "Took It Away", "Pacific Ocean Blue", "The Distance" and "Something Going
On "
are probably the cream of the crop, but to be honest all the songs are so good and so well written with so much going on, on each song that its almost impossible to highlight any one song.

There's no doubt that with "Hi Fi Serious", A have created a monster that should propel them to the top of the premier league but of course at the end of the day whether this makes it big is down to you so take my advice if you only buy one album this year on somebody's recommendation make it this one, you'd be mad not to.
